< 16 > The Business, The Water and The Dream

"Why is this the first I'm hearing about this?" I can hear you think, as I briefly mentioned my online business in the last two chapters. It's simple: My Ego. I told myself no one wanted to hear about it, to protect my feelings in case someone thought I was out of line, trying to help.

I'm done feeling down about being proud of what I'm doing!

When I started my online business I was taught how to run ads so I don't have to "talk to everyone I've ever met since high school" because no one likes to get random messages from someone they haven't thought of in a decade saying "I think you'd be an excellent candidate for ___". So, I started a new Social Media account and left it at that - I didn't want to 'bug' anyone. I still don't, but the energy has shifted. I don't care if someone wants to make an extra couple grand a month, I just know that -I do- and not only do I get compensated extremely well, but I get to help people with their wellness and wellbeing.

My Online Business is selling medical grade, in-home water ionizers that attach easily to any faucet that produces 7 different kinds of pH water; water you drink and water you can clean with!

When I was pregnant with Riven, I knew I had no desire to return to work. I got our positive pregnancy test just 8 days after the word "Pandemic" was used for the first time and stopped working close to my second trimester. My Midwife wrote me a doctor's note stating that the associated risk of high fevers as a symptom of Covid and the possibility of it inducing a miscarriage provided me my "out". I was managing a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities at the time, and was kicked firmly in the gut the day before I found out I was pregnant. Whether I stayed during pregnancy or not, I had no desire to return to a job where I was leaving physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted daily. I wanted to have the energy, devotion and love available to my son. I did go to an interview to be a Manager at the Crisis Unit I had worked in previously, but ultimately decided that would result in the same burnout, so I set my sights online. I applied at over 55 remote jobs on Indeed and over half of them came back with a "scam warning" and not to provide them any additional information.

I felt lost. I knew we couldn't afford to live in Canada on a single income and more than that, I didn't want to put the entirety of the financial burden on Chase nor do I trust "job security", so I kept trying. Well, as the magic happens, the Doula I'd hired shared a post online about non0toxic sunscreen options for babies - so I clicked over to the person who posted it and hit "follow" on Instagram. The next day, this woman was sharing how she made 24K that month, from home, with her kids. I was instantly intrigued and watched her 30 minute webclass and approached Chase with the information I received.

Selling a product that benefits people's lives by optimizing their health and replacing toxic products was a no-brainer for me. I knew first hand how important it was to eliminate toxic household products because it took us 2 years to conceive Riven and only happened after I threw out all the Febreeze, Bounce, Windex, etc. What's more, is we conceived Juniper without "trying" - and I think it is all to do with the environment I created: no toxic products, balanced nutrition, and active hydrogen, hydrating my body effectively.

And then it dawned on me: I've always been in service to others.

All of my jobs have been service related; Tutoring kids with Autism, working at daycare, serving, managing and working in group homes, being a counselor at the Crisis Unit for sexually exploited youth... Now I get to serve in a different way; a way that doesn't lead to me being physically attacked, or running on fumes.

I get to help the people I love (and people I don't even know yet!) take their health into their own hands and heal. 75% of adults are chronically dehydrated, which leads to illness. Our bodies are 60% water; the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water, the skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are 31% water. So... if you're not consuming enough water (or too much of the wrong kind of water) it's no wonder so many ailments are on the rise!

The Business, The Water and The Dream:

I hadn't planned on having kids so close in age; We really had said "one and done" but if we were to expand, we'd wait until Riven was older and more independent; life had other plans. Since conceiving Riven, this much has always been clear:

I wanted to raise my own child(ren) and only use child care services for minimal, short periods of time; I want to free or home-school while also doing extra-curriculars like sports, drama, artistry, etc. I knew I needed to heal my body and that purchasing organic whole foods was an imperative aspect to my healing.

What I didn't know then, was how important water and hydration truly is.

The dream is to have chickens, a goat or two, a flourishing garden, the ability to grow the majority of our food and raise my children to be able to survive and thrive in this ever evolving world. The dream is to have well rounded, healthy, happy children that aren't stuck at a desk day in and day out, who can identify more plants than brand logos. The dream is to have solar panels, a hybrid vehicle and be able to purchase items for my family without worrying about the price tag. The dream is to live without worrying about finances. The dream is to live now, without having to wait until we're 60+ to retire. The dream is to be able to say "yes" to international travel and seeing our friends and family whenever we desire. The dream is to live full lives, knowing that nothing is guaranteed and we deserve to be free, sovereign beings.

I was told I was "cancer free" before I was even told I "have cancer" and that was a hugely pivotal moment for us. On top of having been 2 months postpartum, during the most isolated year of our lives; well - you know the story.

Saying "yes" to starting my Online Business was one of the scariest things I've ever done; more than leaving Canada. Because it's on me, no one else. Entrepreneurship shows you all the areas you're lacking and provides a mirror up to see exactly what needs improvement which is not an easy thing to be confronted with, especially as a person who always excels. These past 2 years have been hard, learning and unlearning so many things. A few people met me with caution, letting me know I may have made a terrible mistake - and I understand why. We always strive to protect those we care about! Fortunately, it's paying off and I'm now at a place where I am super proud of myself, my accomplishments and everything I've learned and overcome. I've created a brand from scratch and I'm able to help people all over the world! Service.

So, for those of you who are interested to know more about the amazing water ionizer I use every day, this is for you:
